I'm researching The Candian Association for Young Children. They have a Canadian Children's Journal and e-newsletter. The Canadian Children's Journal is published twice yearly. The e-newswletter is very supportative of parents as well others. CAYC was granted its Federal Charter in 1974. According to them they influece the direction and quality of policies and programs that affects the development and well being of young children in Canada. They also promote and provide opportunties for professional development for those chared with the care and education of young children.
They have a National Conference October 19 and 20,2012 entitled Wmbracing Complexity in Daily Life of the School: The Learning Process Through Observation, Interpretation and Documentation. I would love to go just to see how things are ran in Canada and to see if the United States conferences are different. I'm sure it would be an success. They also have e-newsletters which you can read online or contact Elizabeth Ashton for more information. Their intentions of the e-newsletters is to inform parents and readers about current news and events. The e-newsletter has so many articles for parents and others to help better understand what's going on in the centers as well as what they will provide in the centers.

Tomekia, the newsletter appears to be very informative. I have decided to subcribe to some of the newsletters that my classmates have mentioned through their blogs. I love reading new information concerning children. Do you think that the newsletter contributes to your professional development, and if so, in what way?
ReplyDeleteThe conference on Embracing Complexity in Daily Life of School would be something I wouldn't mind finding more about. It is an interesting topic and i feel there would be a lot of quality importation provided that could be useful for providing quality care.
